TV star Vernon Kay is one of the famous faces heading to the haunted castle for this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

Vernon, 46, has been forced to leave behind wife Tess Daly and his two daughters as he gets ready head across the drawbridge.

The star revealed his daughters were actually the inspiration behind him signing up for the show.

He said: “I am doing it for my daughters, Phoebe and Amber. It’s a show they watch on a regular basis and they get behind the people in the camp. I think the fact I am involved in it will make it even more fun for them!

“And now it is approaching, they are so excited. Every time I talk about it, I get a double fist pump from them and they are thrilled to be involved.”

It’s clear that the TV personality will be missing his daughters when he moves into the haunted castle this weekend.

But he has signed up to take on his biggest challenge yet and will head to the caste this weekend.

Vernon, a radio DJ and telly personality, started his career as a model.

He later switched to TV, hosting the cult favourite T4 on Channel 4 in 2000.

Shooting to fame from his stint as a presenter, Vernon quickly became a household name.

He has fronted numerous shows, including All Star Family Fortunes, Beat the Star, Splash! and The Whole 19 yards.

Vernon has also featured in Home for the Holidays, Let’s Get Gold and 1,000 heartbeats.

The 6 foot 4 inches star has also dabbled in radio.

He presented his own show on Radio 1 between 2004 and 20012, and from 15-2017 he fronted a show on Radio X.

What is Vernon’s net worth?

He has amassed quite the bank balance during his time in front of the cameras.

According to reports, he is believed to have an estimated net worth of somewhere in the region of £2 million.

And as he gets ready to move into the haunted castle, reports have suggested that the daytime quiz host will be pocketing a whopping £250,000 for his stint on the show.

The presenter is currently isolating away from his family, including wife Tess Daly.

Tess, 51, and Vernon have been married since September 2003, and together have Phoebe, 16 and 11-year-old Amber.

The family leave in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, and gave fans an insight into their home life during lockdown.

After Vernon was confirmed as a contestant in this year’s I’m a Celebrity, his loving wife Tess posted on Instagram: “For years we have watched this show together, cheering the campmates on, laughing at the genius Geordie duo @antanddec and celebrating the King and Queens of the jungle.”

She added: “This year we’ll be watching Vern take part. He is over the moon to be on the show, red gilet an’ all. Good luck Vern!! #imaceleb.”
