BGT Amanda Holden wows in slinky cocktail dress after Ofcom complaints over gown

Amanda Holden is swerving more Ofcom complaints on this evening’s Britain’s Got Talent, as she covers up in a high-necked white evening gown.

The 49-year-old singer, who has replaced head judge Simon Cowell on BGT, was hit by 235 complaints from viewers after she stepped out in a plunging number last week.

Featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and a slit up one thigh, the midnight blue evening dress worn on September 26 proved a controversial wardrobe choice.

On October 3’s performance, Amanda has decided to play it safe with an elegant white gown, complete with long sleeves and a fishtail hem.

Preview snaps from tonight’s BGT show Amanda with her blonde hair slicked down straight, with golden contouring and lashings of lipgloss enhancing her natural beauty.

The mum-of-two has chosen to wear the fitted white dress while performing a track from her highly-anticipated debut album, Songs From My Heart, which was released on Friday.

While belting out the song Not While I’m Around, Amanda has ensured the attention will be directed to her vocals – rather than her sartorial tastes.

Opening up about the decision to don the tasteful white dress for the performance, she told Mail Online: “I’m wearing a dress that goes down to the end of my arms and up to the top of my neck!”

The songstress urged viewers to focus on her singing – “Not on my breasts!”

She added: “Although you very clearly see them as obviously it’s a tight-fitting dress!”

The backlash to Amanda’s dazzling onstage looks have long been a BGT talking point, even though the wardrobe department works hard to ensure each outfit goes without a hitch.

Defending last week’s controversial navy robe, Amanda told the publication: “I can see what people think, it had a like an underwire, you know when you have an underwire bikini or bra, the end of it it’s like an upside down U isn’t it. The end of it dug in.

“I was more insulted that people thought I had either huge saucepan nipples or nipples over my cleavage.”

Britain’s Got Talent airs at 8pm tonight on ITV.
