Big Brother's Chanelle Hayes still in touch with Ziggy 13 years after romance

Big Brother icon Chanelle Hayes is remembered for her Nikki Grahame-style meltdowns and, less dramatic, her romance with fellow housemate Zach “Ziggy” Lichman.

The duo were housemates on Big Brother in 2007 and a romance soon blossomed, with them being dubbed the Posh and Becks of reality television.

And Chanelle, 32, has confessed she and Ziggy, 39, are still in touch now 13 years later, despite splitting six months after the show ended.

The mum-of-two said: “We’ll chat every now and again. I don’t talk to anybody else from the show really.”

Classic episodes of the show recently got another airing in Big Brother: Best Shows Ever.

Sadly for viewers, Big Brother 8, the series Chanelle was on, wasn’t featured – though it sounds like a good thing for her.

The media personality confessed: “I don’t think we could watch – we’d probably get PTSD flashbacks.”

Speaking of the series, which featured other iconic housemates such as twins Sam and Amanda Marchant and Charley Uchea, Chanelle said she is thankful.

She told the Sun: “It was so fun, I got to go to places I never would have gone. I was going to be a speech therapist – but I got to be on the front of magazines and go to Dubai and LA.

“I flew business class and lived in London for a couple of years – it was so exciting.”

Chanelle hasn’t been far from the spotlight ever since Big Brother, enjoying a stint on her own reality show and releasing the single I Want It.

In recent years she has been very open about her weight struggles, often appearing on daytime television to talk of her body issues.

She joked that if people recognise her nowadays, she tells them they saw her on Crimewatch, rather than Big Brother.

The Wakefield beauty added: “I look like I’ve eaten my former self so hopefully no one will recognise me – it’s the perfect disguise.”
