Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell 'plan for a baby with animal-themed nursery'

The daughter of Crocodile Hunter extraordinaire, Bindi Irwin, is said to have already put certain cogs into motion in preparation for a new arrival.

Steve Irwin’s daughter married her childhood sweetheart Chandler Powell in an intimate wedding ceremony at the Australian Zoo, only last month.

It would seem that the pair certainly aren’t wasting any time and have reportedly already started constructing an animal-themed nursery in the hope of conceiving soon.

The young couple have even reportedly selected a name for their future offspring too.

It is believed that Bindi, 21, and Chandler, 23, will opt for the name Steve if it’s a boy, to honour her late father who died in 2006 after a stingray barb pierced through his heart.

A source told the publication New Idea that the pair had already started the planning process, revealing: “Bindi and Chandler are beyond excited they’re going to be parents soon and are going all-out with the planning.

“That includes painting the walls with their favourite animals – virtually every creature that’s housed in the zoo will be included and an abundance of crocodiles, wild birds, koalas and snakes”, the insider detailed.

Speaking candidly about the couple’s plans and their love of all things wildlife, the source revealed that they wanted “their new baby to be familiar with these beautiful creatures from the moment he or she enters the world”.

The source even touched on details that the Crocodile Hunter would have wanted for his family.

They added: “They figure it’ll be their baby’s destiny to have a life that revolves around animals, just as it does for the whole family and just as Steve would have wanted, too.”

The lovebirds who have been together for over six years, also paid tribute to Steve as they said ‘I Do’ in the small ceremony.

In honour of Bindi’s father they lit a candle at her wedding and placed a picture of him at the altar, in his memory.

Speaking about the big day and location Bindi said: “Where we got married was such a special place to dad. It’s a beautiful little area where he had filmed for many years. We had dad’s picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel.

“So mom and Robert were standing right next to dad as we exchanged vows.

“We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness.”
