Coronation Street remove every trace of Bruno Langley amid Todd Grimshaw return

Coronation Street bosses have removed every trace of sex offender actor Bruno Langley on set after replacing him as Todd Grimshaw.

The 37-year-old former soap star was axed from the ITV soap three years ago after he assaulted two women in a Manchester bar.

In October 2017, a Coronation Street spokesperson confirmed that Langley’s contract had been terminated.

Greater Manchester Police later announced that he had been charged with two counts of sexual assault to which he pleaded guilty to on November 28 2017.

Langley was sentenced to a 12-month community order at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

The disgraced actor was written out of the show with Todd being sent on the run after assaulting a police officer.

The character is set to return this week with The Archers star Gareth Pierce taking the role.

Bosses have made sure there will be no sighting of Langley on the cobbles by replacing all the old pictures of Todd with photos of Gareth.

Producers have even Photoshopped Gareth’s own childhood pictures into images wth his on-screen brother Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw.

Speaking to The Sun Online ahead of his Corrie debut, Gareth said: “The on-set family photos in the Grimshaws – all the Todd ones are from my childhood but mixed in with Ryan’s as Jason.

“So it oddly feels there’s brotherly connection even though we haven’t met.”

Bruno played Todd in Coronation Street for 16 years before he admitted grabbing the crotches of two women in a nightclub in 2017.

Since being given the boot from Corrie, Langley has been working as a portrait photographer.

Discussing his new career, he said: “I’m really happy being creative in this way.

“I’ve been taking time out to catch my breath, reassess what is important to me and to make myself a better person.”

Todd was in a serious relationship with Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) before his departure in 2017 – and it seems that his reappearance in Weatherfield could spark a new Corrie love triangle.

Asked whether Todd’s return will cause an issue for Billy and Paul, Gareth told Digital Spy: “I think yes is the short answer!

“Todd definitely sees the ways that Paul has potentially become a replacement for him in Billy’s life and Summer’s life.

“Dan and I have been working hard on making sure that we get on and we’ve been spending a lot of time together and having a great laugh.

“When we got to do those scenes where they’re reunited, we felt the emotion. The real gut-wrenching feeling of those scenes came up on us.

“We got some real genuine tears and emotion that came quite naturally.”

Coronation Street continues on ITV on Wednesday ay 7.30pm
