Coronavirus forces Lisa Maffia into quarantine after 'high risk' warning

Coronavirus has forced So Solid Crew’s Lisa Maffia into quarantine after experts suggested she was at “high risk” of carrying the virus.

The 40-year-old took to social media today to break the news to her fans, explaining she would be self-isolating for several weeks.

Though Lisa hasn’t been diagnosed with Covid-19, she felt it was best for her own safety to avoid contact with others.

She said: “I’ve been told it’s best to go in quarantine for two weeks at home so keep your mask on and don’t have contact with friends and family.

“Because I have been on tour for so long and around so many people I am high risk at having coronavirus.

“So I am staying in this bed for two weeks. Can you get someone to help pay my bills please.”

The raven-haired songstress had been due to take to the stage with the So Solid Crew at a one-off gig at London’s O2 Arena tonight.

Gearing up for the evening’s antics, one fan asked whether they could look forward to seeing Lisa’s performance.

Breaking the news gently, she replied: “I won’t be at the show this evening, sweetheart…

“Make sure you sing all my parts loud for me.”

Lisa isn’t the only star to cross paths with the virus – Hollywood legend Tom Hanks tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

The 63-year-old actor had been filming an Elvis biopic in Australia when he was struck by the virus, forcing him – and his wife Rita Wilson – into isolation.

Keeping his fans updated with news of his condition, the Big star shared a selfie of himself and Rita from quarantine.

He explained: “Hello folks. Rita Wilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us.

“We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else.

“There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness.

“We are taking it one day at a time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?”

Before adding: “Remember, despite all of the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanks.”
