EastEnders fans baffled by Linda Carter 'foot blunder' in dramatic boat scenes

EastEnders fans have been left baffled by the soap’s dramatic 35th anniversary boat scenes.

The water-bound drama kicked off on the BBC soap last night as part of a week of special episodes to celebrate the show’s big milestone.

Things began with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) holding a boat party to celebrate the Queen Vic winning a Pub of the Year award.

Linda, who has been struggling with alcoholism, was drunk again though – leading to the pair arguing.

She was seen storming out and trying to reach a bottle of booze on the bottom deck as she climbed on a shelf.

However, disaster struck on the boat as water began piling in to it after a crash.

Linda was seen being thrown off a shelf and getting her foot caught in some kitchen equipment as she was knocked unconscious.

However, Mick came to look for her when he realised she was missing as she came around.

He was seen trying to free her, but things didn’t look good for the pair as he failed whilst water filled the boat around them.

Despite the explosive scenes, BBC viewers were convinced the couple could have released Linda’s foot from the gap in the kitchen equipment pretty easily.

One wrote on Twitter: “I mean if Mick picked Linda up she would have been able to twist her foot out. Come on think of something a bit better than that EastEnders.”

While another asked: “So Mick didn’t think to put his hand in the gap, push her shoe off and then slide her foot out no?”

A third probed: “Hold on so Mick couldn’t twist Linda’s foot as the water rose higher?”

A fourth chimed in: “Right am not being funny but Mick can literally lift up that table and release Linda’s foot. FUMING MATE.”

Recent drama has already seen Leo King (Tom Wells) die after being stabbed by Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in self-defence.

And EastEnders spoilers have confirmed another person will die in the boat drama, but who will it be?

EastEnders continues on BBC One tonight at 7:30pm
