Ex-Pussycat Dolls star to undergo labia surgery after feeling 'self-conscious'

Jessi Peralta has turned to Dr. 90210 to help her deal with self-confidence issues following an injury she sustained four years ago.

The former Pussycat Dolls Burlesque and So You Think You Can Dance star will feature on the premiere episode of the new show, which follows four female plastic surgeons working in Beverly Hills, California.

Jessi, 38, admitted that she had “some tearing” on her labia after giving birth to her daughter in 2016.

Speaking of her traumatic injury, she said: “They tried to sew it up. I could feel the thread being pulled through the skin, but because I didn’t have any pain medication I pretty much wimped out.”

Doctor Cat Begovic added: “You didn’t wimp out, who could have suture in that area without any numbing medication?”

Jessi went on to say her injury had resulted in her feeling self-conscious, explaining that “everything functions well, it just looks a little crazy.”

“Let’s say a hook ripped your cheek in half. Could you still eat? Yeah, I can chew on the other side of my mouth. Can you still smile? Yeah, but it looks really crazy.”

The injury has also taken a toll on Jessi’s sex life with her husband.

“Prior to the injury, I was much much more free sexually with my husband.

“Ever since I am not confident enough to allow the access that he wants,” she said while laughing.

However, before meeting with Dr Cat, she had previously had a consultation with a male doctor who attempted to discourage her from going ahead with the procedure.

The former PCD star admitted her injury left her self-conscious

“I did have an experience with a male OB/GYN [Obstetrics and Gynaecology] who told me, ‘Oh why would you do that? It’s not worth it. You just look like any old woman that’s had a baby, and who cares?’

“And it’s like, I care and that’s enough of a reason,” she exclaimed.

Dr. 90210 premieres Monday at 10 pm on E!
