GMB weather girl Laura fumes as Andi Peters accuses her of doing 'no work'

Good Morning Britain ‘s weather expert Laura Tobin is known for her cool head, but she nearly lost her temper on Monday’s show.

The 39-year-old meteorologist presented an outdoor weather report from Winkworth Arboretum, following swiftly on from her co-star Andi Peters on the show.

Andi, 50, presented a competition segment moments beforehand, revealing ITV promised to pay one lucky viewer’s salary for three years in the phone-in prize-giving.

The competition will see GMB pay one fan of the show £32,000 per year, adding up to a whopping £96,000 over the course of the payout.

Plugging the swish competition, he asked: “Who wouldn’t love a salary of £96,000 in total?”

Speaking live from his back garden, Andi then urged viewers: “If you’d like to win a three-year salary for doing absolutely nothing, all you’ve got to do is pick up the phone!”

However, Andi took the opportunity to take a swipe at his co-star as he presented the prize, with poor Laura in the firing line.

With a cheeky look on his face, he said: “You’d be getting a salary for doing no work.”

Before adding: “Some would say that’s what Laura Tobin does… but she’s actually a trained meteorologist.”

Trying to save face, he went on to praise Laura’s expertise as a meteorologist, successfully turning the swipe into a compliment.

With a stern look on her face, Laura scolded Andi over the remark but conceded that he had saved the situation.

She snapped: “Good recovery there, Andi.”

Hitting back, she added: “But not all of us are lucky enough to be doing the weather from our back garden.”

Thankfully, the mood was then recovered in the studio, as Laura swiftly went on to forecast the weather for the coming days up and down the country.

Predicting “cloudy, wet and windy” chills, she said: “Weatherwise, it will feel autumnal in the week ahead.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
