Inside Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn's relationship as they 'expect' first child

Singer Ed Sheeran is reportedly gearing up to welcome his first newborn into the world with wife Cherry Seaborn.

The Thinking Out Loud singer, 29, will apparently become a dad in the coming weeks and is believed to have kept Cherry’s pregnancy on the down-low due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Reports claim that the loved-up couple are “overjoyed” with their happy news after spending the majority of the lockdown period at their Suffolk home.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Ed and Cherry are over the moon. They’re very excited but have kept things very low key.

“Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family.

“They’re just making the last of the preparations at home, and the baby is expected later this summer.

“It’s a really happy time and their families are all totally delighted for them and cannot wait to meet the new arrival.”

But how did the couple meet? Daily Star Online has taken a look into Ed’s relationship with Cherry.

Cherry, 28, met her future husband when they both attended Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk.

It’s believed that Ed had a crush on Cherry during their school years.

However, Ed was left heartbroken when Cherry left the UK and went stateside attending Duke University in North Carolina.

The former classmates eventually reunited in 2015 when they eventually became an item.

Ed went on to propose to Cherry just two years later while the pair celebrated Christmas.

Announcing the news on Instagram, he said: “Got myself a fiancé just before the new year.”

Sources claim that Ed and Cherry tied the knot in a low-key ceremony close to her parents home in February 2018, with no lavish ceremony or party.

Discussing their relationship, Ed told BBC Radio 2: “I’m actually the happiest I’ve been and it’s because I had a year to spend with someone,”

“I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.”
