Little Mix cancel summer tour over coronavirus to protect 'fans and crew'

Little Mix have announced that their summer tour has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson revealed the news that the shows were axed as the “health and safety” of their fans and crew was their main priority at this time.

The X Factor winners announced the news on their Twitter page, explaining to their 11.8m fans: “The health and safety of all our fans and crew is always our number one priority.

“Please look out for an email from your ticketing agent shortly.

“Please only contact them if you have not received an email by 5th May. Please stay safe and stay home, lots of love the girls x.”

The groups shows were set to start in June as the girls prepared to play massive stadiums across the UK.

Other dates axed due to Covid-19 include shows in Hull, Cardiff, and Aberdeen.

The tour was originally planned to run through July and into August.

They were also supposed to perform at London’s Hyde Park on July 4.

Fans have been advised to wait for an email from their ticketing agency with instructions to get their money back.

Little Mix member Jesy Nelson recently made headlines after her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes ended.

It was claimed last week that she dumped Chris over the phone, bringing their 16-month romance to an end.

A source said at the time: “She split up with him last week in a phone call, as she thought the relationship had run its course.

“There are no hard feelings.”
