Mel B 'phoned Lauren Silverman in emotional call to deny Simon Cowell affair'

It’s been claimed Spice Girls star Mel B phoned Simon Cowell’ s girlfriend Lauren Silverman to deny having an affair with the Britain’s Got Talent star and music mogul.

According to reports, Mel, 44, told Lauren, 42, that stealing another woman’s partner is “against everything she stands for” in the emotional phone call.

It was claimed by The Sun Online last week that Lauren – who shares six-year-old son Eric with X Factor boss Simon – confronted the songstress Mel in a series of “angry text messages” over the rumours.

And Mel was reportedly horrified by the accusations.

A source said: “Mel was so upset, she said: ‘It’s against everything that I stand for.'”

The insider added to The Mirror: “Mel also said: ‘Anyone who knows me, including Simon, knows I would never ever consider doing anything of the sort to another woman.

“‘I’m a woman’s woman.'”

A source also previously told The Sun that the affair rumours are “total nonsense”.

They said: “There is no affair and there never has been. Simon has never cheated on Lauren.

“Everything is fine between them.”

They added: “Poor Lauren adores Simon but is naturally very suspicious of all the female attention he gets. Because he’s so charismatic, women flock to him – and it riles Lauren.

“Understandably, the fact she and Simon still aren’t married, despite having a son together, makes her a bit more insecure.”

“Simon obviously gets on well with Mel and all his female co-stars, but that’s all there’s ever been to it; absolutely no hint of romance.

“They were both pretty livid – and mortified – when Lauren accused them of a ridiculous affair which never, ever happened.

“Things have been resolved now, and everyone is on good speaking terms – but, for a while, it was obviously extremely awkward.”

This comes as Simon’s ex Sinitta claimed that the entertainment guru will not ask Lauren to be his wife.

Speaking to The Sun, Sinitta said: “You never know what is going on behind closed doors — so I won’t buy a hat for their wedding.”

Both Simon and Mel were reportedly “livid and mortified” when they were accused of having an affair.

News of the fall out came after Amanda Holden’s daughter Hollie suggested Simon and Lauren had secretly split.

During an Instagram live with her BGT star mum, the eight-year-old said of the couple: “I thought they broke up?”

Amanda quickly replied: “Don’t be stupid”, later explaining: “Hollie last saw Lauren when she was about to board a plane back to America during BGT auditions to go and visit her eldest son and so I can only presume that’s what made her – incorrectly – think it.

“In reality, Lauren and I have even been exchanging photos of our families in lockdown. And Simon’s even learned how to cook!”
