Naya Rivera death certificate states she drowned 'in minutes'

Naya Rivera ‘s death certificate has tragically revealed how the Glee actress died.

According to reports the US starlet drowned to death “in minutes” last month during her day trip onto Lake Piru in California.

Naya was just 33-years-old and was a proud mother of one.

The death certificate also confirmed that no drugs or alcohol were in her system at the time.

It adds that the death was accidental and suffered with no underlying causes or ailments.

Naya was laid to rest last Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in the Hollywood Hills – two weeks after her body was recovered from the water following a high-profile search.

Speaking during the hunt for Naya, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Kevin Donoghue told People he believed her death was an accidental tragedy.

He said: “We interviewed her son and there was nothing that we learned from her son that would have suggested that this was suicide.

“Everything that we’ve learned so far leads to this being some sort of water recreational accident.”

The police chief, continued: “To say definitively what actually happened, we really can’t say. We just don’t know, it’s a mystery.

“We’re still investigating, we’re still searching. We’re trying to uncover clues as we go.

“But so far, we really don’t have a lot of information to make any guesses as to what could have happened.”

Donoghue said that he didn’t know if Naya helped her son back onto the boat or if he got onto the boat himself.

Authorities later went on to add they believe the actress managed to muster enough strength to save her son before a current pulled her underwater.
