Olly Murs says 'sun is still shining' in emotional tribute to Caroline Flack

Olly Murs seems to have paid another sweet tribute to long-time friend and colleague Caroline Flack over Instagram this week.

Caroline, 40, was found dead in her East London home last Saturday, having taken her own life.

Appearing to pay his respects to his late friend, Olly shared a photo of himself laying on a peaceful beach in Bali, his arms spread towards the sun.

In his touching caption, he remarked: “Behind the clouds the sun is still shining.”

Olly and Caroline first met a decade ago, when they were cast to co-present The X Factor’s spin-off interview series, The Xtra Factor.

In 2015, the duo temporarily hosted the main event, presenting the series the same year Louisa Johnson was crowned champion.

The two had a close friendship on set, and were famous for their onscreen banter and flirtatious presenting style.

Earlier in the week, the 35-year-old shared a compilation of highlights from their X Factor days, showcasing their connection.

He voiced his heartache last weekend when he first heard the devastating news, admitting his heart was “forever broken”.

Olly said: “I haven’t stopped crying since the news, after we stopped working together in 2015 we didn’t see each other as much as we should have but we always spoke on the phone or messaged plus whenever I did see ya out and about, like a sister we’d just kiss and make up and was back being us every single time.”

Promising to cherish her memory, he finished: “We always said we was friends for life and trust me you will be with me forever. My kids will know you, my grandkids will and then I’ll see you again, give you a huge hug, a huge kiss, get mic’d up and have you by my side again.”
