Perrie Edwards unveils drastic hair transformation as Little Mix tease new song

Perrie Edwards has unveiled a new hairdo as pop princesses Little Mix gear up to release their 26th single as the lead artist.

Little Mix made history when they became the first group to win The X Factor in 2011 and also became the first girl group to make it to the final stages of the competition.

Taking to their social media, the group teased clips from the music video for their upcoming single Sweet Melody, with each member undergoing a makeover.

Perrie, 27, was seen sporting a bold blonde fringe, a drastic comparison to her normal hairstyle which sees her sweep her blonde locks to one side with a middle parting.

Sharing the news to their 11.8 million Twitter followers, the girls captioned their post “SWEET MELODY 23.10 Official video coming soon…” giving fans just 48 hours to prepare themselves for the new record.

Elsewhere in the video, Perrie flaunted her toned torso while wearing baggy joggers and a black bralet, protecting her ample assets.

Fans were left picking their jaws up after seeing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s girlfriends new look and instantly shared their delight on social media.

One fan tweeted: “Perrie Edwards fringe is a serve.”

While a second went on to say: “PERRIE F***ING EDWARDS HAS A FRINGE. IM AM HYPERVENTILATING.”

“Perrie with a fringe is something I never knew I needed,” gushed a third.

“Now I have it I am fully obsessed! Stunning queen, giving me Madonna vibes,” exclaimed a fourth excited fan.

Despite fans being treated to new music over the past few weeks, they were left devastated when their weekly instalment of Little Mix: The Search was not broadcasted last Saturday.

The news came after several members of staff on the BBC One show tested positive for coronavirus.

However, it has been confirmed that Little Mix themselves have not contracted Covid-19.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: “We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.”

They added: “There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October.”
