Phillip Schofield leaves his mum gobsmacked with wild hair transformation

Phillip Schofield admitted his unruly locks astounded his mum as he embraces longer tresses in lockdown.

The This Morning presenter, who recently moved out of his family home, is known for his slicked-back silver barnet, and well-groomed appearance.

However, with barbers and hairdressers closed for the foreseeable future due to coronavirus, the 54-year-old hasn’t had a chance to trim his mop, and decided to show off his unkempt appearance on Instagram.

Sharing his unpolished look on Instagram, the father-of-two gave a slight grin to the camera lens as his hair took centre stage.

Phillip Schofield admitted he shocked his own mum with his longer locks

Sporting a loose blue jumper for the image, Phil’s hair looked noticeably spikey as he raised his eyebrows in amazement.

He playful captioned the shot: “Skype’d my mum, my hair made her jump.”

Adding another picture of his wild locks on Snapchat, he remarked: “This is getting ridiculous”.

The TV host admitted he was unsure about his wild look

The image looks to have been taken at his new London pad, which he recently moved into after coming out as gay.

Earlier this year, the TV host opened up about his sexuality during an emotional segment on This Morning, stating “I’ve had to deal with this in my head for quite some time”.

He has since amicably moved out of the £2million family home in Oxford which he shared with wife of 27 years, Stephanie, and their daughters Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24.

In February, during a candid chat with co-host Holly Willoughby, Phillip said he had “never had any secrets” from his wife Stephanie Lowe.

He insisted: “We’ll always be a family,” adding “She is amazing. She is literally astonishing.”

According to reports, staff at the ITV studios have been made aware of the star’s address change, including the drivers who take him to and from the studio.
