Piers Morgan leaves Susanna Reid gobsmacked as he sips a pint live on GMB

Susanna Reid was left stunned on today’s Good Morning Britain as Piers Morgan proceeded to sip a pint live on air.

Piers, 55, was treated to the glass of bitter by the GMB crew as they discussed pubs opening up in the UK this weekend amid the coronavirus lockdown.

He was overjoyed when he discovered the drink behind him, and he quickly took a gulp with a smile on his face.

Susanna was shocked, as she exclaimed: “It’s 6.38 in the morning kids! Don’t try this at home.”

Piers also posted a collage of snaps showing him enjoying his delicious beer.

He shared the snap on his Instagram page, posting it to his 1.1m followers with the caption: “BOOM! First pint of Harvey’s in 4 months! Who cares it’s only 6.42am… and I’ve got 2 more hours of live TV…”

His fans rushed to leave a comment on the photograph.

One said: “The rest of the show should be lively” with a laughing face emoji.

Susanna revealed she had to watch “hours and hours” of TV, before sharing her concerns about having “no control over the editing”.

She said: “You see, the benefit of doing a live programme is you’re always in control of what you say and what goes out.

“When you do a recorded programme, it’s in the hands of the editors.”

Piers added: “And as our friend Eamonn [Holmes] found out, the editing can be a bit savage, the editing process as they apologised to him.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
