The Chase fans distracted as Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs 'appears on show'

The Chase viewers were convinced Coronation Street star Tyrone Dobbs had a lookalike after watching today’s episode, when contestant Kit appeared on the show.

With a similar hairstyle and appearance, ITV viewers compared the quiz-hopeful to soap star Alan Halsall.

Taking to Twitter, they jokingly wondered what “Tyrone” was doing on the show, having strayed from the Corrie cobbles.

One said: “That’s Tyrone from coronation street isn’t it?”

A second added: “Seat two Tyrone from Corrie.”

While a third chimed: “Good to see Tyrone on!”

Host Bradley Walsh was made aware of his celebrity status during this evening’s show when Kit asked for his autograph.

The Penzance-born contestant stepped up to the plate, hoping to win enough cash to fund his upcoming honeymoon.

The animal management instructor revealed he spends his free time collecting celebrity autographs, with major stars like Maggie Smith featuring in his collection.

He said: “I actually like collecting things, especially autographs.”

Kit admitted his most coveted autograph was from David Attenborough, received in the form of a handwritten letter.

Turning to host Bradley, he announced: “I’m just waiting for one from yourself.”

Left chuckling to himself, Bradley admitted his autograph wouldn’t sell for much online, saying: “My autograph went for £4 recently.”

After a successful cash builder round, Kit tried his best to defeat The Governess Anne Hegerty – with little luck.

A question about golf knocked him out of the competition, as Bradley consoled: “Kit I am sorry to lose you mate.”

Kit replied: “I’m glad I came!”

Fingers crossed Bradley gave him his autograph before he left the studio!

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
