The Chase's Mark Labbett wows with huge weight loss in 'skinnier' transformation

The Chase star Mark Labbett has wowed his social media followers with his weight loss as he showed off his “skinnier” transformation.

The brainiac, nicknamed The Beast, revealed in August that he had contracted coronavirus earlier in the year which left him with no appetite.

Back then he said he’d lost five stone and the weight was continuing to “drop off” because he carried on eating “sensibly”.

In a new photo he shared on his social media platforms, Mark, 55, smiled next to a photography as he took a break from a shoot.

Wearing black jeans and a grey-blue shirt, the quizzer looked happy and healthy in himself after dropping from his highest weight of 378lbs, or 27st.

He wrote alongside the snap: “Bit skinnier these days,” and added the hashtag “Muscle Food”.

Comedian Paddy McGuinness quickly responded, writing: “Looking good pal,” and a thumbs up emoji.

Another follower said: “You’re looking amazing! Well done on the weight loss.”

A third said: “Keep it up, you’re doing great.”

Someone else told him: “You’re almost the Shadow of the Beast.”

While another impressed fan wrote: “Hubba hubba.”

In July, Mark revealed he’d lost “a bit of waistline” as he showed off how baggy his smart trousers were.

But just a month later, he explained he’d dropped even more weight after he contracted coronavirus in February, and was left with no appetite.

At the time, he told The Sun On Sunday: “Because the testing capacity was so limited then, I never formally got a test but all I can say is that for two weeks I had complete loss of appetite, no sense of smell, a temperature, exhaustion and the worst fever of my life.”

He went on: “I basically didn’t eat for two weeks but since then the weight has continued to drop off because I have continued to eat sensible.

“I knew I had to. I am still losing weight and beginning to notice the difference in photos which, I can assure you, are not Photoshopped!”

Almost a year before then in October 2019, the 6ft 6in star told his fans he’d lost four inches from his chest and six from his belly in the six months prior.

Mark said it was his “first target achieved” as The Chase bosses had been forced to buy him a new suit for the ITV show.

He went on to say he’d lost 2.5st in weight as well, proving he was off to a great start in his journey.

The clever clogs will be completely unrecognisable this time next year.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
