A Place in the Sun's Jonnie Irwin interrupted as couple clash over villa

A Place in the Sun’s Jonnie Irwin found a cheeky way to rile up a couple after making them clash over decor plans.

In Thursday’s episode of the Channel 4 show (May 27) Terry and Jen were planning to buy a holiday home in south Tenerife after enjoying many holidays together on the island.

The newly engaged couple had a £150,000 budget and wanted a home with a swimming pool that would ideally be located close to the sea as well as restaurants and shops.

Unfortunately, the first property, a one-bedroom flat in El Medano on the market at £161,000, left the couple bickering over how it should be decorated, much to Jonnie’s amusement.

Terry told Jonnie he liked the property and could see it looking great once Jen had put her “stamp” on it.

“So what would Jen’s stamp be, do you think? Or do I need to ask you that, Jen?” Jonnie asked.

Jen replied: “Well, I would just put different things in different places. But that’s just my choice.”

When Jonnie tried to continue talking, Terry interrupted him to reprimand his partner.

“Our choice,” he said, correcting Jen and prompting her to apologise: “Our choice, sorry!”

Jonnie then took the opportunity to tease the couple over the spat and started laughing, before he said: “It’s started!”

The couple eventually decided against the first property and instead put an offer on the third one Jonnie showed them – a three-bed penthouse apartment in Los Abrigos.

It had a roof terrace with gorgeous views of the sea and was on the market for £161,016 so the couple made a reasonable offer of £157,500.

Although the seller rejected that offer, they did give a counteroffer of £158,900 that was just a smidge higher and a delighted Jen and Terry decided to accept it.
