Abbey Clancy says husband Peter Crouch said 'I’m gonna leave' after puppy ‘ultimatum’

Abbey Clancy says her husband Peter Crouch jokingly threatened to leave her after she brought their Labrador puppy home.

The 35-year-old model surprised the former footballer, 40, with little Jeffrey last March, and admitted that the adorable dog soon won her husband round to his side.

Speaking to Rochelle Humes on her My Little Coco podcast Abbey explained: “We got a puppy last March. Pete was like: ‘If you literally bring one more living thing into this house, I’m gonna leave’.”

Peter chimed in to defend his strong reaction saying: “The thing is, she said ‘you’ll love him when we get him’.

“But I don’t need to love another thing – there’s loads of love in the house. Don’t give me another thing to love!”

However, it seems that the precious pooch had soon gained Peter’s love, as Abbey revealed Jeffrey was sleeping on Peter’s feet during the conversation.

She joked: “Don’t listen Jeffrey!”

Abbey explained she had to get the pup because it had been a life-long dream of hers to grow up surrounded by animals.

She said: “I didn’t have any pets growing up, so I’m sort of living all my childhood pet wishes through my kids – it’s not even for them, it’s for me.”

The model continued: “I was even looking at teacup goats the other day.”

However, Peter was quick to cut in and stop Abbey’s thought process dead in its tracks, insisting: “I don’t want to be feeding goats, unfortunately.”

Peter and Abbey share four children together – Sophia, ten, Liberty, six, Johnny, three, and Jack, two.

In June, the football ace shut down any notions that they would be expanding their brood, jokingly saying it was already a “ridiculous decision” to have four kids.

Speaking about having more children in an interview with OK! magazine, he said: “God no! Don’t ever have four.

“It was a ridiculous decision – one that I love and wouldn’t change for the world – but it’s tough.”
