Adam Peaty speaks out on mum's claim that Strictly is 'total fix' after show exit

Adam Peaty has confessed that he’s “had words” with his mum after her claims that Strictly Come Dancing is a “total fix”.

The Olympic swimmer was booted off of the BBC show last week alongside his professional dancer partner Katya Jones after they scored just 27 points from the judges.

There was a shock on Sunday night (November 7) as Adam and Katya found themselves in the bottom two with Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin.

However, it was Adam and Katya who were eliminated from the ballroom as they lost the dance off, and Adam’s mum Caroline was furious at the show.

Strictly star Adam Peaty said he’s “had words” with his mum Caroline after she blasted Strictly with claims that the show is a “fix”

Caroline’s fuming mum took to Twitter and went on a rant about how the show was a “total fix”, and that the judging system was unfair.

Adam addressed his mum’s fixing claims on BBC Breakfast during Thursday’s show (November 11).

Host Charlie Stayt asked Adam: “Can I ask you one question, we need to get it out the way really.

“Mums always massively support their children, and I’m sure your mum all the way through everything you’ve ever done, the amazing things you’ve done, she’s supported you.

“She said some things about your exit from Strictly, so it’s only right you get the chance to [respond].”

Adam replied: “I agree with you that mums are always going to support their own, she wanted to see me every Saturday night. You know how mums get.

“Bless her, I love her to bits, she loves me to bits. But I think she does wanted me to do a paso. That’s all she wanted me to do!”

He went on to explain that if anyone could lose well, it would be him.

Adam told BBC presenters Naga and Charlie that he was “glad” to leave the show as there were so many incredible dancers on there

He continued: “But for me, if anyone can lose well, it’s me. And everyone in that competition, they’re all incredible people and I’m glad I’m out because I don’t deserve to be there.

“Some of the dancers there… my jaw is dropping. I will always get behind everyone on the show.”

Host Naga Munchetty said: “You’ve answers that very diplomatically, have you had words with your mother?”

Adam said he doesn’t want to “censor” anyone’s view

Adam replied: “Well, yeah… but you know, it is the way it is, isn’t it? I don’t want to censor anyone. She’s got her thoughts, I’ve got mine. my thought is the most important one to me, and I had the most incredible time.”

After Adam’s Strictly exit, his mum Caroline took to Twitter and slammed the show, saying: “Total fix and I’m not buying the public vote.”

She later said that the judging is “not consistent or fair”.

However, she praised Katya and Adam’s “amazing partnership”, and thanked the pro dancer.

She added: “You have taught my baby boy how to dance, thank you x
