Adele gobsmacked as Zoe Ball points out 'spooky' coincidence in album release date

Adele appeared on BBC Radio 2 to introduce her internet breaking new track Easy On Me – which is out now.

The 33-year-old songstress also popped on-air for a brief chat with radio host Zoe Ball which saw her shed light on speculation surrounding her album release date.

Her long awaited fourth studio album 30, will finally be available on 19 November.

However, eagle-eyed fans of the Hello hitmaker were quick to pinpoint a “spooky coincidence” with the particular date.

Zoe explained: “Jordon my producer pointed out this morning the release date of the album is 19th of the 11th, add them together, equals 30.”

The Celebrity Gogglebox star asked: “Was that a plan?”

Shutting down claims, Adele responded: “Oi Oi, it wasn’t but my fans put all that together earlier. I saw that. I had no idea.”

The Grammy Award winning singer added: “And then there was an Easy On Me clip that was 21 seconds apparently which was to line with all the albums without even meaning to.

“But yeah, it was an accident but yeah, it was great.”

Presenter Zoe, couldn’t believe it wasn’t part of the plan as she began to chime the Twilight Zone theme tune.

In the interview Adele also revealed that making the album had been “bloody hard work” as she opened up on her mental health struggles.

She told Zoe: “It was bloody hard work to make I was singing things that I didn’t even know I was feeling or thinking but I’m really really proud of it.”

The chart topper went on: “I feel like I can’t unlock a door for my own mental health and take the key with me.

“I’ve got to leave it in the door for everyone else and I’m in a strong place now where I feel like I can put that vulnerability out there.”

Adele explained her song was about “divorce” on an earlier Facebook live

The power vocalist last released a single in 2016 and there had been much hype over the last few months about a grand comeback.

Earlier this week, during an Instagram Live, Adele told a fan that “divorce” had been her sole inspiration behind her new track.

The Billboard topper had been married to charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki – with the pair sharing son Angelo Adkins together.

Simon and Adele met in 2011 and tied the knot together in 2018 but parted ways in that same year.

It was confirmed by the singers representatives in 2019 that they had split before Adele filed for divorce in September 2019, with their divorce being finalised in March 2021.
