Adele 'reduced to tears' at comeback show in front of star-studded crowd in London

Adele was ‘reduced to tears’ at her London show this weekend as she marked her musical comeback.

The 33-year-old superstar singer wept as she performed at the London Palladium for a one-off invite-only event. It was her first UK show since a string of Wembley performances in June 2017.

The event was recorded and will be aired on ITV on November 21 for a show called An Audience With Adele, which will come two days after the release of her eagerly anticipated fourth album 30.

The Someone Like You singer, who has admitted to suffering from stage fright in the past, told the crowd: “I’m sh***ing it! I’m so nervous!”

It was the Tottenham-born singer’s first visit to the UK in two years and she was accompanied by her sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul, 39.

She has also been spotted with a new ring on her left hand amid rumours that the couple may already be engaged.

Among the star-studded guests were Dua Lipa, Idris Elba, Michael McIntyre, Naomi Campbell, Gareth Southgate and her good friend Alan Carr.

At one point the comedian Carr joined Adele on stage and entertained the crowd with a rendition of her Make You Feel My Love track as she had her make-up reapplied.

He described it as a “magical night” on social media, adding that there were “tears and laughter”.

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway was also in attendance and wrote on Instagram afterwards: “Wow wow and wow … @adele you were beyond sensational tonight – funny, moving & that VOICE!!!

“So thrilled to be in the audience (and what an audience – you’ll see it on @itv soon) to hear songs from the utterly brilliant new album #adele30 & of course her legendary classics.”

All mobile phones were confiscated before the event to avoid any of the new tunes being leaked.

Adele was also seen sipping honey tea throughout the show to protect her vocal cords, which she has previously had surgery on.

One lucky attendee told The Sun that she was “playful” but that “you could tell she was feeling the pressure”.

“She sounded better than ever but there were a couple of false starts throughout the evening, whether that be because of tech issues or her nerves,” they said.

The sourced added that the show was “absolutely incredible” and had almost everyone was welling up.
