Alan Carr 'terrified' after yobs robbed his car and smashed it into phone shop

Alan Carr has revealed his motor was nicked and used for a ram raid to rob a shop.

The comedian said looters nabbed his car during the London riots and smashed it into a mobile phone store.

Alan, 44, said: “They stole my Mini and someone drove into a Carphone Warehouse with it and used it as a ram raid.

“And do you know the worrying thing was, my glasses were in the glove compartment – I was terrified that they’d put them on and then did the ram raid and people thought it was me.”

The Chatty Man host told the Private Parts podcast he got the damage fixed and then flogged it as he couldn’t live with it being involved in a crime.

He said: “This sounds so stupid, but I felt so soiled and dirty that I sold the car.

“Well it was part of a crime and I felt bad, I’m Alan Carr and law abiding, so I sold the car.

“I repaired all the front and everything and then I went, ,’No, I feel like there’s been a criminal in it, he’s used it for crime.’

“They never caught anybody. It was just terrifying with the riot going on.”

Trouble kicked off in north London in August 2011 following the death of Mark Duggan, a local man who was shot dead by police, before spreading across the city and beyond.

Alan added: “It was terrifying at the time, you didn’t know what to do.

“And then I was like, ‘Oh, my Mini’s gone!’ I don’t know how they drove off in it.”

The TV funny man recently admitted that he couldn’t take part in Strictly Come Dancing as he’d ‘get aroused’ when performing the sensual dances.

Speaking on his podcast Life’s A Beach, Alan said it would be impossible to perform any sensual dances with a man as it would “make him hard”.

He explained: “I get asked to do Strictly every year. I get asked about what I think about same-sex dancing and I say no.

“Their eyes light up and go ‘oh my god’ and I say no because I’d get a lob on if I dance with Aljaz or Gorka. I would be so hard.

“If I get on a bus, the vibrations make me hard. So doing the Argentine tango, forget it, that’s a sexy dance.”

Alan’s revelation comes after it was claimed that Strictly bosses are considering featuring two same-sex couples in the new series.
