Good Morning Britain’s new host Alastair Campbell casually dropped into Wednesday’s discussion that his daughter knew BRIT award winner Dua Lipa personally.

The 63-year-old explained that his daughter Grace hadn’t allowed the chart-topping singer into the “cool gang” during their time at school.

Alastair explained that his daughter had been left with egg on her face, given the New Rules hitmaker was now a successful global sensation.

He explained: “I have a story about Dua Lipa, my daughter wouldn’t allow her into the ‘cool gang’ and now she’s touring the world.”

He added that his daughter, who is now a comedian, tells the story as part of a comical sketch.

Fans stormed Twitter to discuss Alastair’s on-air revelation while applauding the singer for her incredible achievements.

One person penned: “So there’s a lesson to any girl who’s not allowed into the ‘cool gang’ at school.”

“You may grow up to be like Dua Lipa, and the cool girl will grow up being known as something like Alastair Campbell’s daughter #GMB,” added the online user.

Dua Lipa stole all of the limelight at the 2021 Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena last night.

The pop star took to the stage wearing a Geri Horner inspired Union Jack attire, teamed with a pair of sexy suspenders.

Her killer set, included hit songs; Don’t Start Now, Physical, Hallucinate, Pretty Please, and Love Again.

Dua Lipa took home some major wins, scooping up the BRIT Award for Female Solo Artist, as well as Mastercard Album of the Year.

The songstress devoted both of her awards to others, firstly urging viewers to “send a message” to Boris Johnson that NHS workers should receive a better pay rise.

Another award was dedicated to Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, who saw a woman fall from London Bridge and lunged into the water to save her, alongside another passerby.

After a lengthy rescue operation, tragically Folajimi’s body was discovered 6am the following morning.
