Ant McPartlin reflects on romantic Christmas engagement to fiancée Anne-Marie

Ant McPartlin says his Christmas engagement to lover Anne-Marie Corbett was “a lovely way to end the year”.

The I’m A Celeb host revealed he laid on a romantic proposal at home. He said: “I’m a romantic at heart.

“You know, there were flowers and afternoon tea in front of the Christmas tree, lovely, it was lovely.”

And the telly star, 45, admitted to teasing Dec, 45, about whether he is going to ask him to be best man again.

Ant was previously married to Lisa Armstrong. The couple split in 2018 after 11 years.

He told Digital Spy Magazine: “He was very good last time.

“I suppose it depends on what kind of wedding we have, there’s been no plans.”

Dec replied: “I think it’s between me and the dog!”

Meanwhile, Ant said he would be happy to film I’m A Celebrity in Wales again if the pandemic hasn’t subsided by next winter.

Last year’s series was shot there instead of Australia due to the Covid crisis.

And the star he wants on the show is the Mr T from the A-Team.

He said: “If during coronavirus we have to stay put and do it in Wales again, I’d be very happy, we were very welcomed in Wales.

“There were cardboard cut-outs of me and Dec in the butcher’s, and the local school did a tribute.

“We’d happily go back there. We’d miss the sunshine, mind.”

The duo also revealed how they played a prank on Olympic hero Sir Mo Farah on upcoming show Saturday Night Takeaway.

The runner, 37, was interviewing people for a part-time nanny role during the sketch, which will be aired in the next few weeks.

Ant said: “There’s a moment in the Mo one where he’s showing this manny or nanny around the house, and then we said to him, just say, “This is the en suite bathroom where the kids might want to have a bath at bathtime.”

“So, he opens the door. But we’ve placed in there this 70-year-old granny, who’s having a bubble bath.”

Dec added: “It was actually Mo’s aunty, who he didn’t know was going to be there.”
