Ashley Cain and Safiyya's family get matching tattoos in memory of Azaylia

Little Azaylia’s family have honoured her by getting matching tattoos.

On Monday, parents Ashley Cain and partner Safiyya Vorajee, shared a photo of family members’ wrists with the new ink, for baby Azaylia Diamond who died on April 24.

The eighth-month old died after a battle with a rare form of leukaemia.

The tattoos read the baby girls’ full name with a diamond drawn underneath.

Cain shared the tribute on an Instagram post writing: “I love you. Azaylia Diamond Cain,” followed by the diamond emoji.

Azaylia’s mum Safiyya also shared the ink on her Instagram Story, saying: “So some of the girls from the family have just been inked in memory of my little girl Azaylia Diamond Cain.”

Azaylia Diamond Cain sadly died last month

Last month, she had spoken about wanting to commemorate her daughter in a tattoo, including the possibility of getting one of her baby’s handprint and footprint “so I could always have her so close.”

The parents shared the news of their daughter’s leukaemia diagnosis in October last year when she was just two months old.

They told fans she had a “very rare and aggressive form” of cancer.

In February, the family were told Azaylia’s leukaemia had returned before she was set to leave hospital after a stem-cell transplant.

After several trips to the hospital and urgent ambulance call outs, the little one passed away on April 24.

Vorajee wrote an emotional message on social media while mourning her daughter.

She said time without her daughter was a “struggle all through the day and night” and said her days feel “empty” without her.

Ashley Cain and girlfriend Safiyya updated fans with Azaylia’s battle until she died in April

“When the journey I was on was difficult mentally I didn’t realise it was going to get harder,” Vorajee wrote.

“Looking after my baby in hospital from 8 weeks old wasn’t the way I was expecting to become a mummy but I counted everyday as a blessing that I am Azaylia’s mummy and would give her my 100% everyday!

“I studied every part of her diagnosis I learnt all her medicine because I wouldn’t have done nothing less for my baby.”
