Ashley Cain shares light display at Azaylia’s grave to make it ‘magical’ for her

Ashley Cain has revealed an incredible light display at his baby daughter Azaylia’s grave – whilst vowing to make it “magical” for her.

The former Coventry City footballer, 30, and his girlfriend Safiyya laid their daughter Azaylia to rest last week after she tragically passed away last month following a battle with cancer.

This comes just after Ashley made an heartbreaking eulogy at Azaylia’s funeral – saying that she “saved him” in the powerful and emotional speech. He ended the tribute by singing her favourite Disney song from The Jungle Book.

Azaylia’s family have been working to make their little girl’s resting place as beautiful as possible.

Ashley’s partner Safiyya shared a clip of her own, writing to her followers: “The lights are on.”

It’s been reported that Ashley’s family banded together to tidy the area around the grave, which had been filled with old flowers and deflated balloons by supporters.

As well as the lights, the couple has made the plot look even more wonderful after featuring fresh flowers, orange ribbons and stuffed animals on Azaylia’s spot.

The family gave Azaylia a truly special send-off at the funeral which featured a horse-drawn carriage to carry Azaylia, and well-wishers even filled the streets to pay their tributes in a public show of respect.

This comes after Ashley and Safiyya revealed the awful news about their daughter’s battle with leukaemia after she was diagnosed with it at just eight weeks of age – announcing they could no longer treat the cancer.

The family had raised over £1 million for her to receive specialist care in Singapore before coming out with the heartbreaking news, with medics finding tumours on her brain and throughout her body.

Azaylia passed away at her home on 24 April, with her parents announcing the news on social media the next day.
