BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay not a fan of Daniel Craig's 'brave' Bond premiere jacket

Daniel Craig may be known for his suave suits and impressive stunts as MI6 agent, James Bond but his latest suit didn’t go down too well with everybody.

The Wirral-born actor, 53, graced the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night for the global premiere of his latest and final Bond movie, No Time To Die.

However, his questionable wardrobe choice sparked a conversation on Wednesday’s BBC Breakfast with Jon Kay and Sally Nugent sharing their thoughts.

Discussing Daniel saying “it’s time to move on” Sally added: “It’s time for him to move on, I can’t believe it” but she was left stunned when Jon responded.

“I know, I can’t believe the jacket either, to be honest,” said Jon before Sally added: “You don’t like it, do you?”

Acknowledging Sally, Jon said: “Well, it’s brave… Someone is saying on Twitter is framboise is the official colour.”

“I love it, rose is what I think we decided earlier,” said Sally before Jon interjected: “Somebody is also suggesting it’s rather like that other Daniel’s jacket on Saturday night on Strictly, Mr Daniel Walker.”

Addressing BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, Sally was keen to point out that Dan Walker’s jacket was covered in sequins, before adding that she “loved” both of their choice of jackets.

Shortly after the premiere, fans of Daniel and the James Bond franchise took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

One penned: “Yes, I think Daniel Craig’s velvet jacket stole the show at the James Bond premiere.”

While a second added: “Phworrrrr keep seeing Daniel Craig walking down the steps in that pink jacket on TV,” alongside a flustered gif.

“I think Daniel Craig was wearing @mrdanwalker’s fabulous purple jacket from #Strictly at the Bond premiere and I LOVE IT,” joked a third.

“There aren’t many men who could pull a Raspberry Red Double Breasted Suede Jacket but Daniel Craig is definitely one of them. He looks absolutely dapper here,” gushed a fourth.

Speaking about his final outing as the famous agent, Daniel told ITV News that he had “mixed emotions” before adding: “I just want to celebrate tonight.”

The actor admitted that while he may not be playing 007 anymore, the spy will always be a part of his life and he will never forget his time playing the character.

Daniel first took on the role in 2005, playing Bond in Casino Royale and was the first actor to take on the role after the death of the Bond creator, Ian Fleming.

He told the PA news agency: “I’m just so grateful for the fact that I got a chance to go and make one last one and it be this one and to finish telling the story.

“This has been a massive part of my life, I’m never not going to think about this, it’s been too big a thing in my life.”

No Time To Die is set for UK cinematic release on Friday, September 30.
