BBC Naga Munchetty applauded for 'great' response after hitting back at trolls

Naga Munchetty has been praised for her ‘great response’ when she hit back at trolls online.

The presenter has needed to develop a “thick skin” over the years while presenting the flagship BBC Breakfast show and has accepted that you can’t always please every viewer.

However, that does not mean that the presenter will simply lie back and let trolls write anything they want without occasionally standing up for herself.

On Wednesday the BBC Breakfast star decided to hit back at some of her critics by retweeting, and commenting, on their hurtful comments.

And the 46-year-old broadcaster was inundated with messages and posts of support for calling out viewers for their cowardly comments, reports the Daily Express.

One of her critics tweeted: “Does anyone still listen to this awful woman?”

Rather than replying to the post, Naga retweeted the comment for all of her 255,000 followers questioning why the rude individual even followed her.

The presenter fired back: “Do yourself a favour. Stop following this awful woman.X.”

And Naga’s fans had her back with a flood of comments singing her praises.

One person commented: “”Don’t let the haters get you down, Naga! We love you.”

While another wrote: “”Block him – who has the energy for such dislike?”

Unfortunately that was not the only troll Naga had to deal with on Wednesday with another cropping up with a distasteful comment.

The critic wrote: “The BBC’s idea of diversity is to replace a white feminist with a brown one. #DefundTheBBC #GBNews.”

Naga once again retweeted the post and wrote: “Aren’t you simply delightful? X.”

In December the BBC presenter talked about how she copes with the critics and trolls who attack her.

Naga told The Grython : “People think that because you’re on the telly – particularly if you’re on the BBC and they’re paying a license fee – there’s some sense of ownership… which is lovely, but at the same time can be very intimidating.”

“You develop a thick skin over time. You learn to accept that you’re marmite…you’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but some people really like what you’re doing”.

She added: “You develop a thick skin over time. You learn to accept that you’re marmite… you’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but some people really like what you’re doing”.
