BBC's Louise Minchin jokes she'll 'take time off' after co-host's 'boring' chat

BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin joked she would have more time off from the show after getting “bored” at her counterpart Dan Walker’s conversation about golf.

Louise, who was off on annual leave last week, is back on our screens this week.

But when conversation turned to the upcoming Masters golf tournament today (April 6), she was less than happy.

Dan, a keen golf fan, started explaining why he was so excited for the premier golfing event to sports reporter Katherine Downes.

“Remember when Danny Willett won a few years ago – I stayed up all night,” he laughed.

An unimpressed Louise quickly interjected: “I remember a few times that you’ve stayed up all night.”

“I’ve been excited for months,” Dan continued before going into depth about who he tips to win.

Noticing his co-host’s lack of enthusiasm for the topic, he added: “I’ll be boring Louise with it for the next few days.”

“I might have to take some more time off,” Louise jokingly replied.

As the studio burst into laughter, Dan admitted: “I can see your golf eyes – every time I talk about it your eyebrows go up.”

And, wanting to move the subject on, Louise asked if they could move to the weather with Carol Kirkwood.

Elsewhere on the show today, viewers were left distracted at a politician’s “disorganised” kitchen.

And yesterday, fans of the show were unimpressed when they spotted a travel agent’s face mask slip on the show.

One viewer wrote: “We’re now a year in and some people have still not worked out how to use their face mask..”

Another said: “I was more interested in whether the travel agent’s mask would fall below his nose rather than what he was saying.”
