Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton rushed to hospital in ambulance as fans panic

Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has been involved in a hospital dash, leaving her fans in a worried frenzy.

The reality star shared a selfie from inside the back of an ambulance, hooked up to an electrocardiogram (ECG) with sticky pads applied to her shoulders and chest.

Chantelle could be seen wearing a mask in the photo with a blue blanket drawn over her as she looked wearily at the camera to update her loyal Instagram followers on her condition.

The star is suffering from a mystery illness, and thanked NHS staff for their support.

Taking to social media to share the post, Chantelle wrote: “Grateful to the NHS, thank you for looking after me when I needed you… scary day but the NHS were amazing, so much love and so grateful @nhsengland.”

Concerned fans immediately flocked to the comments section to wish Chantelle the best, with one writing: “Sending you love girl.”

“Get well soon!” another echoed, as a third follower penned: “Ahh I hope you are okay and you have a lovely Christmas!”

Someone else commented: “Sending lots of love – get well soon.”

It comes just two weeks after Chantelle announced she was isolating due to Covid-19, as she posted a black-and-white snap looking glam in a furry coat and black silk shirt, with her sleek black locks falling across one shoulder.

The star captioned the snap: “‘Hello to the other side’ I’m in COVID ISOLATION… get me out of here! #MissMyFreedom.”

It isn’t the only impact the pandemic has had on Chantelle’s life, as she announced in September that she and her former fiancé Michael Struff had gone their separate ways after lockdown.

She explained to OK!: “It was amicable and we are still very friendly. At the start of the year I moved out.

“With lockdown, I think a lot of people probably started relationships and we moved in together really quickly… I think that it put a lot of pressure on things and it just fizzled out.”

Chantelle said she is in a “really good, positive place” after the breakup.

She even started a new career during the lockdown period and became a Body Shop consultant, as she “wanted to do something that I can focus on instead of just homeschooling” during the pandemic.

The star added back in January: “Lockdown, work, you can’t get out of your house. I’ve just been so bored!

“The whole mental health thing… you need to be focused on something. I want to earn money, who doesn’t want to earn money? Let’s be honest!”
