Bradley Walsh in hysterics over random 'drunken moose' The Chase question

Bradley Walsh and The Chase fans were left laughing after possibly the most random question ever came up on Tuesday’s edition of the show.

During the latest episode of the ITV programme, Bradley initially hosted the show as normal only for the an unusual question about a drunken moose to catch him off guard.

Fighting back tears of laugher, the TV veteran read out: “Which astronomer owned a tame moose that died in his castle after getting drunk and falling down the stairs?”

Looking baffled, Bradley burst out laughing as did the contestant who tried to keep a straight face as much as possible.

The correct answer was “Tycho Brahe”.

Brahe, a Danish astronomer who lived in the the 1500s, was known for his usual behaviour and stories linked to him.

He famously was exhumed twice, one in 1901 and then in 2010, to research into his death and identify what artificial nose was made of.

In another bizarre claim, he was said to have lost his nose in a duel over a mathematical formula.

The usual question quickly set Twitter alight with fans baffled and amused in equal measure.

Alongside a screenshot of Bradley laughing, one supporter wrote: “I f****** love The Chase.”

Another added: “Waits for gags about bringing a pissed moose home from a night out!!* #TheChase.”

Meanwhile, a third continued: “I love it when Brad gets a funny question and just loses it #TheChase.”

“Poor Moose,” a fourth joked before adding a string of laughing emojis.

On Monday evening fans of The Chase’s new spin-off show Beat The Chasers watched as contestant Kat Glennie-Soares pulled off the impossible and out-quizzed all five Chasers.

The Essex-based accountant scooped £50,000, despite only initially banking £1,000 during her Cashbuilder.

Kat partly credits Britain’s Got Talent babe Alesha Dixon for helping her land the windfall.

Kat said: “I don’t remember any of the questions now, although I do remember the Alesha Dixon question as that was strange – there’s some element of fate always in it.

“Twice before on the car journey to the studio Alesha Dixon came up. A Mis-Teeq song had played and my partner had said, ‘Is Alesha Dixon the one in Mis-Teeq?’ and I’d Googled it to check.”

Alesha also popped up in an advert while Kat caught up on TV after arriving to the studio early.
