Carol Kirkwood apologises for awkward technical blunder on BBC Breakfast

Carol Kirkwood was forced to leave BBC Breakfast hosts Louise Minchin and Dan Walker hanging in the studio today after she suffered problems with her earpiece and couldn’t hear them.

The presenters had just been talking to tennis aficionado Judy Murray when they joked she and weather reporter Carol were “best friends”.

Initially, Carol laughed along as though she could hear the presenters and proceeded to conduct her latest report.

But as she came to the end, it was clear she was experiencing sound issues.

“We’re looking at highs up to 13 degrees and the average at this time of year is roughly 11-15 north to south,” she finished off. “Lou and Dan.”

“Thank you very much Carol good to bring you and your good mate Judy Murray together,” Dan teased at first.

“Yes but… even though it’s virtually,” Louise chimed in.

Realising Carol wasn’t reacting to them, Louise continued: “I don’t think Carol can hear us.”

Forced to address the awkward moment, Carol apologised: “I can’t hear you I’m sorry.

“I’m so sorry,” she added once more.

Consoling her colleague Louise insisted: “It’s ok we forgive you.

“Don’t worry!” the presenter added.

Carol gave a little shrug and back in the studio, Dan wasn’t willing to let the weather girl off that easily.

“We’ll mention it later on,” he added with a cheeky grin.
