Love Island’s Jake Cornish has been very open talking about his love of feet, before he even entered the villa he was raving about “small feet” and “little white toes”.
Many viewers reacted in horror, sharing pictures and jokes at Jake’s expense due to his fetish.
However, sex and dating expert Gillian, co-founder of dating app for the adventurous BARE, insists it’s not as rare as viewers think.
She says: “Foot fetishism or foot partialism or podophilia is actually the most common of sexual fetishism.
“This can translate in many different forms from having a specific desire for the way a person’s foot looks, eg. Long toes, high arches, long or short nail beds, painted nails to name a few.”

She explained her own experiences: “Personally I’ve had my toe sucked on many different occasions, for me personally I can see the attraction from my perspective as the suckee, it’s a truly different and unusual sensation.
“There is also a forbidden aspect to the act itself, we don’t typically view our feet as objects of desire.”
Talking about Love Island Jake’s admission she says: “Jake was honest and upfront about his preferences, for this I praise him.

“To come out on what is the biggest show on UK television takes a lot of courage.”
Many social media users have been mocking Jake for his fetish, and Gillian thinks it’s a shame: “The public’s response has been rather intense and bordering on kink shaming which is something that I’m virulently against.
“No one should be made to feel insecure about their sexual desires, if these desires are communicated and consensual.”

She adds: “It’s sad to see such backlash. Only through understanding can we all live to feel free and confident in our own skins.”
As Gillian mentions, foot fetishes are surprisingly common, and it seems water engineer Jake’s fancying of feet isn’t that rare, especially if these celebs are anything to go by.

The director is notorious for his love of feet, and quite often features close-up shots of his leading ladies’ soles.
The maker of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill has been open about his love of toes, and frequently included the bare feet of Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek and Margot Robbie in his movies.
Uma Thurman even made a joke out of his passion by drinking champagne out of her shoe at a Friar’s Club roast of the director. There have been many photos shared of him kissing and sucking toes, too.
Britney Spears

Possibly one of the more surprising fans of feet is popstar Britney Spears.
The stunning blonde singer has made headlines for many reasons over the years, but in one memorable interview she was asked the best way to seduce her.
She said in the video interview that her favourite seduction was “for a guy to kiss [her] feet”.
Britney is also known for frequently being barefoot in her social media posts.
Jack Black

Actor Jack Black insists his love for toes isn’t anything weird.
In an interview with Playboy he explained: “They have to be clean. I’m not into, like, funky odours, but I do have a bit of a foot fetish, yes.
“I find myself staring at feet. I like a heel, if she’s wearing clogs that does something for me. Flip-flops. Sandals. Bare feet are the best.”

Turns out the singer loves feet, but he’s a little bit embarrassed about it, as he previously said: “It’s not good for my image, but I’m what I’d guess you call a foot fetishist.
“I just find feet really beautiful.”
He added: “It’s bad. It’s like ‘Hi, nice to meet you [looks down],'” and even says feet can be a deal-breaker for him.
“Pretty feet are pretty feet. Ugly feet are like duck fights.”

The Hero singer told interviewer Jay Leno straight-up: “I have a foot fetish.”
He was told by a radio listener that one man opened up to his wife that he too has a foot fetish because of his past openness about his love.
He did go shy about it though, saying it “was a little one” and said the host loved them more than he did.

The N.E.R.D star was also asked about his desires in an interview with iconic magazine Playboy.
The interviewer for the saucy mag asked him: “Your N.E.R.D. bandmate Shae [Haley] admits he has a foot fetish. What’s your fetish?”
The Happy singer replied without pausing: “I would agree — girls’ feet.”
He’s kept fairly quiet about his love of feet since, though.
Tommy Lee

It all starts somewhere, and rocker Tommy Lee says his mum is the one to blame for his desires.
The former Mr Pamela Anderson admitted: “My mother was Miss Greece in 1957. She’s gorgeous and she’s got beautiful toes.
“That’s one of the reasons I have a foot fetish today. When I was a kid I’d massage her feet.”
He added: “You’d think the first thing I’d look at on a woman is the breasts or the face. But I go right for the feet. I like to do everything with them.”

It is also claimed that the King had a foot fetish too, that, like Tommy, stemmed from his mother as well.
Elvis said it came from massaging his mother’s feet as a child – which he referred to as “rub her little footsies”.
It was also alleged his security would go and pick girls from the crowd, based on their feet.
Madonna

Madonna’s fans were stunned when the star appeared on-screen licking and sucking toes in her Medellin video.
It’s not known if it’s something she’s actually into personally, and Madonna has made a career out of shocking people, but it certainly made an impact.
It was also claimed in NY Daily News that Madonna told a dancer who was late to kiss her feet, which he duly did.
