Charlotte Church confirms she's given birth after Holly Willoughby's slip-up

Charlotte Church has announced that she has given birth to a baby girl.

The 34-year-old Welsh singer opened up about her little daughter for the first time during a podcast on Wednesday.

She told the Sink The Pink Pop Tart podcast: “‘I would love to introduce you to my little baby. Covid realness honey.”

The proud mother-of-three then brought her new tot dressed in pink into view as she cuddled her adorable bundle of joy for the camera.

Charlotte had first announced she was pregnant with her and husband Jonathan Powell first child together in a low-key tweet in March.

She shared the exciting news the same time she announced she was pulling out of a charity concert because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier in the day, Charlotte appeared This Morning and chatted to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby live via a video link from her home.

Holly, 40, said: “You’ve got three kids now”to Charlotte, who is already mum to two children Ruby, 12, and Dexter, 11, with former Wales rugby player Gavin Henson.

The ITV star appeared to accidentally let slip that Charlotte has given birth despite there being no prior announcement from the songstress.

She said: “You’ve got the three kids now. How is home schooling?”

Charlotte replied: “I’ve been homeschooling my own children now for a few years now.”

Charlotte’s appearance was to promote her work with Comic Relief and the English National Opera, where she is training comics such as Jennifer Saunders and Caroline Quentin to learn to sing opera ahead of a live performance.

The Crazy Chick songstress said: “‘So we’ve got five amazing comedians who are going to extend their skills set to include opera singers, it’s a serious challenge, an epic challenge, so much fun.”

Charlotte and Jonathan married in a secret ceremony in October 2017 three months after she announced the couple had suffered a miscarriage.

A Twitter statement at the time read: “Charlotte and Jonny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family.

“We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace.”

Charlotte appeared in a rare interview about her family on This Morning, following her devastating miscarriage.

She revealed that she hadn’t “ruled out” having more children.

Speaking to Holly and Phillip at the time, Charlotte explained: “I’m really happy with my dude. He’s lush, he’s so smart and he really looks after me.

“I don’t know. I’d never rule out anything. Never say never!”
