Cheryl makes TV comeback with new music show after wowing fans with glam makeover

Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl has announced a new show she will host on BBC Sounds dedicated to her love for the R&B genre of music.

The 12-episode series of shows will see Cheryl play music from TLC to Beyoncé whilst she reminisces over stories from her youth as she developed her love for music.

Her new BBC Sounds show is called ‘You, Me and R&B with Cheryl’ and is out today – Cheryl shared a link to the first episode on her Twitter.

Cheryl tweeted her announcement, she posted: “I’ve always had an absolute love and passion for R&B and I’m so excited to share my new show with you on @BBCSounds.

“I’ve really been transported back re-listening to all these tracks and I’m excited for you to relive those moments with me. Episode 1 is live now.”

Throughout the series of shows Cheryl will look back at the roots of her love for R&B sharing honest and revealing insights into her childhood and the songs she attaches to her memories.

She said: “I’ve always had an absolute love and passion for R&B so I’m hoping listeners are transported back and absorbed in their own nostalgia too.

“Music can be really healing when you’re going through something painful or happy, by revisiting those moments you can take back your power, I’ve discovered that myself throughout the process.”

The former Girls Aloud star had taken a step back from the spotlight recently for a quieter life with son Bear.

The 38-year-old shares her son Bear with her ex Liam Payne, of One Direction fame.

Following a busy few years as a chart-topping solo artist, X-Factor and The Greatest Dancer judge as well as guest appearances, such as on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK series, Cheryl has been focusing on her son and spending time away from the limelight.

After Cheryl’s appearance on Comic Relief earlier this year, her first appearance for a while, Radio stations were reported to be desperate to sign the star up with her own show on their station.

The star has slowly been coming back into the spotlight, sending her fans wild after sharing glamorous selfies and a brand new look.

She recently shared a gorgeous snap of herself after being being given a makeover, flaunting dewy make-up and curled hair which bounced around her shoulders.

Cheryl sent her fans wild with the stunning display, signalling her return to showbiz.
