Coleen Rooney tipped for Rebekah Vardy Wagatha Christie doc in £1million deal

Coleen Rooney is reportedly in talks to create a bombshell documentary about her Wagatha Christie row with Rebekah Vardy in a £1million deal.

The former friends are locked in a court battle after Coleen, 35, alleged stories were leaked from Rebekah’s Instagram account to the press.

Rebekah, wife of Leicester striker Jamie, vehemently denies the claims and is suing Rooney for libel.

According to The Mirror, Coleen reportedly wants to “let the public make their own minds up” and present her evidence against Rebekah in the documentary.

The wife of former Manchester United Ace Wayne Rooney would be “front and centre” of the project, which could start filming in the New Year, just months before the libel trial in the High Court gets under way in the summer.

Coleen’s row with Rebekah began in October 2019 when Coleen posted her accusations about leaks after a sting that earned her the Wagatha Christie tag.

Producers Lorton Entertainment, who are also making her husband Wayne’s documentary Rooney, are said to be in “very advanced talks” over the film, which could be streamed on Netflix or Amazon.

A friend of Coleen told the Mirror: “Coleen has remained quiet ever since that famous online post. But this could all change in what could be the TV event of the year.

“Viewers would see all the evidence that Coleen has forensically gathered via her online sleuthing and see why she is convinced that Rebekah leaked the stories about her and others. She is minded to get it all out into the pubic domain and let people make their own minds up. Talks are very well advanced.”

Coleen and Rebekah, who was heavily pregnant at the time of the incident, have been encouraged to settle their differences outside of court but both are reportedly refusing to back down.

The libel case will likely cost the loser millions, with Coleen’s lawyers saying her legal bill will be £537,000, while Rebekah’s is estimated to be £838,000.

A friend of Coleen said that any TV move would “undoubtedly” be seen as a “hostile act” by Rebekah’s camp ahead of the trial.

The pal said: “There is no doubt that Coleen is upping the stakes and then some, and it will be interesting to see how Rebekah reacts. But Coleen is on a mission and is passionate about what she believes in.”

Coleen is set to appear in front of the camera in another Lorton produced documentary titled Rooney, where she will discuss the problems in her marriage to Wayne, who has been accused of infidelity and drinking.
