Courtney Love 'almost died' and was admitted to hospital suffering from anaemia

Courtney Love Cobain has spoken of her personal hell which saw her almost lose her life while suffering from anaemia.

The singer and actress saw her weight drop to just 6.9stone as she detailed her trauma which saw her facing “debilitated, and indescribable pain,” during August of 2020.

Courtney, 56, revealed she almost died from her battle with anaemia which causes a lack of healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen to the body’s tissue.

The rockstar announced on her Instagram page that she had been “sad and extremely sick” as she recalled the painful experience in a post shared with her one million followers.

In a lengthy post, Kurt Cobain’s widow penned: “People, I’ve been sad, and extremely sick. Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anaemia (haemoglobin I had none).

“I was stigmatized for being an addict for 9 months by many ill-equipped Drs, backwards Drs and quacks. While in debilitating acute pain.”

The former Hole frontwoman went on to add: “But I’m so good now. And on CBD oil. Which has removed ALMOST ALL the physical symptoms. And all the pain.”

Courtney continued, saying that she had previously “scoff at Cannabis” but no longer enjoys the narcotic effect of Class B drug.

“Bear with me as I start to try and have a blast and help others every pain-free day !!! I’ve been basically bedridden. I thought I was broken for sure this time. But I’m ok!

“So I’m just waking and I’m frail. I’ll be strong again soon! Not as always because this is the period to be mellow and not waste energy on anger, etc,” she signed off with.

Factors that could risk anaemia include genetic conditions such as Crohn’s disease, which Courtney referenced with a hashtag on her post.

Six years ago, she revealed that her late husband Kurt had seen medical professionals for Crohn’s disease after suffering from stomach pain.

“I think he should have been taking to the Mayo Clinic or whatever, but we did have Cedars-Sinai available to us, so he went there several times for Crohn’s disease, endoscopies, a biopsy, over and over and over again,” she said.

Courtney’s admission comes just one month after she revealed that she had “stopped being capable” of acting in Hollywood movies following “a bunch of #MeToos”.

In a candid social media post as she reflected on her career, she wrote: “No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop.

“So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it. Maybe, in my next life, I’ll be stronger & able to endure it.
