BBC Breakfast fans were more distracted by Grant Shapps’ bookshelf than they were about the important interview with host Dan Walker.
The 44-year-old TV presenter demanded to know who had been lying – Prime Minister Boris Johnson or his ex trusted advisor Dominic Cummings.
The hard-hitting question was seemingly strategically swerved by Shapps, who said that he had attended the programme to speak about the “rail network White Paper” and not Dominic Cummings.
But eagle-eyed viewers were more distracted by a book shown in the MP’s background as opposed to the fiery debate.
Dozens of fans took to Twitter to pen their thoughts, highlighting that Grant had his own publication in prime view.

One online user said: “@BBCBreakfast please ask @grantshapps whats with the book with his name on…you can’t miss it cos it’s level with his head!”
A second added: “Why has grant #shapps got his bookshelf set up like a #waterstones store with his book on show #bbc #breakfast @BBCBreakfast.”

Dominic Cummings, who is claimed to be hurt by the manner of his departure from No 10 has hit out on a number of occasions to slam Boris Johnson’s conduct – especially surrounding the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
More recently, the former MP alleged that Boris Johnson had said “Covid is only killing 80-year-olds” when the lockdown had been delayed until autumn.

Host Dan lunged straight in, quizzing Grant about his views surrounding Dominic’s claims.
Grant said: “What I can tell you is what’s happened.
“For example, previously it was said that the Prime Minister had made comments about not going into another lockdown.
“Not only did we go into a second lockdown in November, we went into a third lockdown in January and we’re still coming out of that third lockdown and that will have saved many lives and given us a chance to get the vaccination into many people arms in the meantime.
“So, people can see what’s actually happened they don’t have to rely on the testament or words about what was in theory said or wasn’t said in a meeting and in any case this is the reason why we have a full blown public enquiry announced so that there can be an independent enquiry of what went right and what went wrong.
“Lets face it there’s no textbook, there’s no manual to deal with a pandemic.”
