Dancing on Ice star Brendan Cole 'panics ITV bosses' after anti-vax rant

Dancing on Ice is said to have been ‘thrown into Covid chaos’ following a social media post by celebrity contestant Brendan Cole.

An article in The Mail on Sunday has suggested that bosses of the popular ITV show are said to be anxious, after former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan, 46, reportedly took to social media to encourage his followers to join in a ‘Freedom March’ against the Government’s Covid guidelines.

In the post, which has since been deleted, Brendan is reported to have also said: “Does another human have the right to force you into doing something to your body? The answer should be unequivocally no.”

He added: “If you wish to have the vaccine, stand proud and have it, but as human beings we should respect others who have a different stance for whatever reason.”

The post has since caused concern for bosses of the ITV programme, with a source telling The Mail on Sunday: “It’s a worry for Dancing on Ice, but they can’t make anyone have the vaccine.

“The show is all too similar to Strictly, as is the scenario over jabs, and it all got very difficult for the BBC ITV’s hands are tied here and that is what is causing headaches.”

The report also suggests that those involved in the show are currently speculating if everyone has had the vaccine.

However, ITV have confirmed that the programme will have strict Covid safety guidelines in place.

An ITV Spokesperson told Mirror: “Dancing On Ice has stringent protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all contributors and staff, these are routinely monitored and updated to reflect the current guidelines.”

The new series of Dancing on Ice is scheduled to be aired on ITV in January, and contestants including Brendan are already in rehearsals practising for the upcoming series.
