Dancing On Ice turns awkward as Holly calls Jayne out for 'spoiling' results

Holly Willoughby called Jayne Torvill out for “spoiling the party” on Sunday’s Dancing On Ice finale, as she decided against awarding Sonny Jay full marks.

For his first skate of the final, the Capital FM radio presenter performed in tune to George Formby’s When I’m Cleaning Windows, even playing his ukulele during the inventive routine.

While the rest of the judges were smitten by Sonny’s gimmicky skate and awarded him a 10, Jayne felt the Loveable Rogues star deserved just a 9.5.

Holly was quick to pick up on the disappointing mark, only for Jayne’s fellow judges to pile in, complaining the Olympian had spoilt the round of perfect tens.

“Jayne you spoiled the party there with tens across the board,” Holly said, hoping to hear why she refused to give full marks.

John Barrowman could be heard shouting Jayne’s name, as Holly exclaimed: “Awkward!”

Professional skater Jayne replied: “Sorry! I loved it anyway.”

Insisting the performance lacked character, she went on: “I know how difficult some of those moves are and I thought you executed them really well tonight.

“I just would have liked a tiny bit more character, that was my only thing.”

John accused Jayne of “shade” after hearing the explanation behind her points

Former Dancing On Ice contestant John jumped in on the action and started pointing his finger at Jayne from across the judging panel.

He yelled: “It was oozing character – shade!”

Christopher Dean agreed with John, going against his skate partner Jayne by pointing out her marks don’t go towards choosing the victor.

He swiped the points were “only for guidance, so Jayne’s mark doesn’t count”.

Jayne admitted she wished the performance had “more character” after Sonny skated

Thankfully, when it came to Sonny’s second performance of the evening, Jayne was more forgiving and awarded Sonny a whopping 10 points, impressed by his Popeye routine.

Praising Sonny’s ability to skate in line with the beat of the music, she added: “Also, you’ve got this fantastic personality as well.”

Sonny was up against former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes in the final Bolero skate-off, with Olympian Colin Jackson landing in third place.

Defying the bookies’ odds, Sonny was crowned the series champion, looking emotional as he accepted the title, taking over from last year’s champ Joe Swash.

Congratulations Sonny!
