Danny Dyer 'very upset' he won't be able to see daughter Dani's baby after birth

Danny Dyer is ‘very upset’ he won’t be able to see his daughter, Dani, and his grandchild after she gave birth.

Love Island star Dani gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence on Saturday.

However, due to national lockdown and coronavirus restrictions in place due to the pandemic, Dani isn’t allowed anyone to visit her in hospital.

While pregnant women are now allowed one person as a birthing partner during labour, it’s limited how long they can stay for once the bundle of joy arrives.

Dani will be joined by boyfriend Sammy in the hospital, meaning other family members aren’t allowed to visit.

Dani, and her dad Danny, were discussing her birth before she went into labour, on their podcast, Sorted with the Dyers.

Danny, known for his role as Mick Carter on EastEnders, admitted he was gutted he couldn’t be there to see his grandchild.

He said: “I’m obviously a bit concerned because you’re having a pandemic kid, which rules out me going up the hospital.

“I know I wanted you up the hospital,” his daughter Dani said, adding: “It’s so sh*t”.

The dad admitted he is ‘so confused’ when it comes to Covid rules and support bubbles, and shared concerns that he won’t be able to see the new baby.

He went on to say: “I’m so confused with the bubbles… I don’t think I’m allowed to see my own grandchild, if Boris has his way, no. And that is very upsetting to me.”

Dani announced the birth of her firstborn on Instagram yesterday, saying he came into the world on Saturday, January 23.

She shared a sweet photo of her with the bundle of joy.
