EastEnders newbie Heather Peace before Walford – Waterloo Road fame to real accent

Heather Peace is gearing up for her EastEnders debut as Eve Unwin, but where have we seen her before?

Well, the actress is no stranger to the small screen and eagle-eyed viewers will probably recognise her from hit TV drama London’s Burning.

Heather played Sally ‘Gracie’ Fields in the series about a fire brigade, joining in season 11 and staying until the show wrapped after its 14th series in 2002.

Sally was one of the show’s firefighters, and fans can probably recall that she had a bit of a fling with Dan Barratt (Brad Gorton).

Heather, 46, is also known for Waterloo Road, where she starred as no-nonsense head of English Nikki Boston.

The actress is now heading to soapland as ex prisoner Eve, who meets Stacey Slater in jail and then decides to follow her back to Albert Square.

Heather’s EastEnders gig was announced this summer, with executive producer Jon Sen saying that the ex-con was “a fascinating character” who would cause mayhem in Walford.

The actress has also been counting down the days until her first appearance in the BBC soap.

Sharing a picture of herself at the Queen Vic on Instagram earlier this month, she told fans: “3 week countdown to my arrival on the square.”

Then last week she shared shots showing her on set and wrote: “After 2 months filming on EastEnders, my first ep goes out a week on Friday, 29th Oct.

“With my accent it really was a curveball, but I’m super happy with the gig.”

Heather originally hails from Bradford in Yorkshire – meaning she’s a real northern lass.

EastEnders fans are really looking forward to Eve’s arrival.

“Cannot wait to see what you have to bring to the square Heather,” one wrote in the comments section.

“Sooo can’t wait to see it! You are totally awesome!!” posted another.

In Heather’s personal life, the iconic actress has been married to Eleanor Dickinson since December 13, 2014, and the pair share three children together.

Away from her acting career, Heather is also a singer – and began classical training in piano when she was just six years old.

She later learned to play the guitar.
