EastEnders viewers left cringing over Ian and Sharon's 'sexy talk'

EastEnders fans were left sickened tonight as they watched Sharon Mitchell and Ian Beale flirting over dinner.

Sharon was planning on killing Ian after he locked her son Denny on a boat, leaving him there as the boat sank.

She mixed poison in with his dinner, and continued to flirt with Ian as if everything was normal.

Ian told her he didn’t want dinner and instead wanted to go to bed.

He said: “Yeah I will be happy. In bed.”

Sharon replied cheekily: “First your main course, then your afters”.

Fans went into meltdown on Twitter, as one wrote: “Ew Ian and Sharon sexy talk makes me wanna vom”.

While another penned: “We don’t need any Ian and Sharon sexiness… things are bad enough…”

“These Ian and Sharon scenes are cringey as hell,” penned a third.

Later in the episode, the drama began to spiral as Sharon attempted to kill Ian by feeding him poison in his pasta.

He found out her plans before chowing down on the killer dish.

Sharon then told Ian she knew about him locking her son Denny on the boat and leaving him to die.

The guilt got too much for Ian, who proceeded to eat the poison himself in an attempt to end his life.

Sharon stopped him, and he proceeded to vomit the poison up.

Ian then did a runner, leaving Albert Square behind him.

Viewers went into meltdown at the end of the episode, wondering whether Ian had made a permanent departure from Walford.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Wait has he actually left. I need to know”.

While another penned: “Has he left?”

A third added: “Ian Beale! What happens next??”

Another wrote: “Wheres Ian off too??”

EastEnders’ official Twitter account tweeted: “Goodbye, Ian”, so it seems he could be leaving the soap for good.

Fans will have to wait and see if the character returns in future episodes.

EastEnders continues on Monday at 8.05pm on BBC One.
