She posted the snap of herself in front of the famous Albert Square sign earlier today adding that she knew people would be focused on the Euro 2020 match later on.

After posting the photo, daughter Emily Atack shared it onto her story, writing: “She’s coming home… Kate joins EastEnders. You’re a legend.”

Jen will reportedly be joining the soap as a “no-nonsense, old-school rocker”, but she’s only expected to be on for a short while.

A source told The Sun on Sunday that the team felt that Kate was the perfect fit for the cast.

They said: “Not only is she a great actress, but she has plenty of experience of that music industry too. They weren’t disappointed – she did a brilliant job.”

It is reported that she will join the show alongside her friend Rocky, played by Brian Conley, to work on the rising pop career of Whitney Dean.
