Emmerdale's Gabby Thomas set to replace Kim Tate as 'dangerous' side exposed

Kim Tate is the undisputed queen of Emmerdale, but Gabby Thomas could be about to swoop in and steal her crown.

Ahead of the upcoming battle for Home Farm, actresses Claire King and Rosie Bentham discussed the juicy storyline, which sees Kim mentor young Gabby in the world of crooked business dealings.

However, as Kim sets about making Gabby her protégé, she is in danger of being usurped entirely – especially as the teen falls pregnant with Jamie Tate’s baby.

Discussing the storyline with Daily Star and assorted media, Claire confirmed Kim’s plans to invite Gabby into her exclusive inner circle.

She said: “She’s kind of welcoming Gabby into the fold. Not only does she work at The Hide out front, but I think she’s wanting her to come into the office and become more involved that way.

Kim will warm to young Gabby in upcoming scenes, offering her a glimpse of the life of luxury at Home Farm

“Also, if she was to move into Home Farm, it’d be perfect if she was with Jamie because then she has got another ally there – or so she thinks.”

However, the very thing that attracts Kim to Gabby – her dangerous streak – could prove her downfall as the storyline unfolds.

Claire explained: “I think she sees that she’s this edge to her, Gabby. She’s not just intelligent, she’s not just smart. She’s got an edge. She’s got a little dangerous side. I think Kim likes that.

“Now, that could be to her detriment at some point, who knows. Gabby’s certainly got a tough side to her that we haven’t really quite seen yet.”

Hinting at chaos to come, she added: “I think she could be underestimating Gabby considerably.

“I think there’s quite a bit of potential there for there to be a real battle on for Home Farm.”

Kim has yet to learn that Gabby is expecting Jamie’s baby

Similarly, Rosie added that Gabby is yearning for more status in the village, and stealing Kim’s position as the Tate matriarch could be her ticket to success.

She said: “She’s in Mulberry Cottage with a few family members and she looks at Kim with all these flash cars and everything and she thinks, ‘that’s great, I’d love that, I’ll do whatever it takes’.”

Agreeing that Gabby might be set to replace Kim as the head of the Tate household, Claire added: “It wouldn’t be the first time Kim’s been booted out of Home Farm and had to move into the village.

“And live this very humble life in front of everybody laughing at her, so I can imagine it happening again.”

Are Emmerdale fans ready for Gabby’s reign of the Yorkshire dales?

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
