From Ulrika Jonsson to Emma Watson – the stars that have gone naked for charity

Celebrities supporting important causes is a bonus for any charity organisation, however, sometimes drastic tactics are needed in order to get the message across.

To highlight a prominent subject, some celebs decide to strip down completely naked to raise more awareness and, to be honest, it often does the trick.

With Ulrika Jonsson recently hitting headlines for her compeltely naked pose for male mental health charity Strong Men, Daily Star have taken a look at other celebs who once took a similar approach.

And trust us when we say, there have definitely been a few celebs who have bravely gone starkers for a charitable cause.

Ulrika Jonsson

This week former presenter Ulrika Jonsson stripped down to raise awareness for a mental health charity Strong Men.

Wearing only a pair of wellington boots and a flower in her hair, Ulrika flaunted her toned, slim physique while holding onto a wheelbarrow.

To cover her modesty, the star perched her right leg up slightly and used her right arm to cover her chest.

The mother-of-four bravely posted her nude picture to Instagram and captioned the photo: “To mark us becoming 150k strong on this page, I’m baring myself for @strongmenorguk.

“Text STRONG to 70085 to donate £5 to help men cope with bereavement; open up and talk about grief.

“It’s never unmanly to talk.”

She then nominated a few of her pals to also take off their clothes for the charity including former Olympian James Cracknell.

Cara Delevingne

Last month, British model and actress Cara Delevingne posed naked for a non-fungible token that she later auctioned for charity.

The proceeds made from the digital art display went to Cara Delevingne Foundation, which supports women’s rights, the LGBTQ community, mental health and the environment.

The NFT (non-fungible token) was a short video which showed the model naked while on the beach.

In the clip, Cara also spoke openly about her body including her vagina.

The star said: “My first word was mine. To me, that means something that is most mine – my vagina.

“My vagina – I own it. It’s mine and no one else’s. I choose what I do with it. And no one can take that away from me.”

Greg James

Greg went nude for Comic Relief

Radio 1’s breakfast presenter Greg James also took the plunge and went completely naked for charity.

Back in 2013, the radio host stripped down for BBC’s Comic Relief and posed nude at the famous Zambezi River in Zambia.

Appearing quite awkward in the photo, Greg clutched onto his manhood as he emerged from the water.

The presenter promised his fans that he would go for a naked swim in the river if they managed to raise £50,000 for The BT Red Nose Challenge: Hell and High Water.

To Greg’s surprise his supporters did hit his target which meant Greg had to do the challenge.

Once finished, the breakfast host tweeted: “Great work @BBCR1 listeners. Mr @gregjames goes naked in the #zambezi.* *warning, may contain butts.”

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson went completely nude in 2013 to support sustainability charity Global Green USA.

Posing for the saucy photo, Emma can be seen with her hair completely wet as she placed a flower in her mouth.

The star then promoted the book that her nude photos would be included in and tweeted a picture to her fans on Instagram.

Taking to Twitter, Emma said: “My friend is supporting GlobalGreenUSA with his book Natural Beauty. It’s out now.”

Khloe Kardashian

Khloe bared all for PETA

Reality star Khloe Kardashian usually isn’t shy to showcase some skin to her fans, but in 2008 the mother-of-one opted to pose naked for animal rights charity PETA.

In the picture, the brunette babe wore her locks big and untamed as she used one of her hands to cover her boobs.

Her other arm also slightly covered her perky bottom however it can still be seen in the photo.

The message on the photo read: “Animals killed for their fur are electrocuted, drowned, beaten, and often skinned alive.

“Be comfortable in your own skin. Let animals keep theirs.”

In 2012, Khloe’s sister Kim Kardashian was flour bombed by a PETA protestor at an event. The unexpected attack took place because Kim had previously worn fur.

Not long after Khloe parted ways with the PETA.

Wendy Williams

Wendy also stripped down for PETA

Outspoken talk show host Wendy Williams also took a similar stance to Khloe Kardashian and went starkers for animal rights charity PETA.

Wendy can be seen laying down completely naked for the shoot as she gazed seductively down the camera lens.

The campaign, that was plastered around Time Square in New York, had a message that read: “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.”

In 2012, Wendy spoke openly about her thoughts regarding animal fur.

The presenter said: “There is a sexy way to suggest to people to rethink the fur.”

In 2013, while her music career was on the up, singer and actress Miley Cyrus went naked to pose for a racy picture which was later splashed across the front of Marc Jacobs T-shirts for a skin cancer awareness campaign.

Miley covered her bottom half with her hands and the words “Protect the Skin You’re In” cleverly covering the top half.

The fashionable T-shirts cost $35 each and were available through Marc Jacobs.

The tops also raised funds for NYU Langone Health centre.

Pamela Anderson

Baywatch babe Pamela also took on the challenge and posed for animal rights charity PETA in 2010.

Posing nude in the shower, the PETA campaign resembled the Alfred Hitchcock’s movie, Psycho.

The campaign highlighted how meat and dairy farms drain fresh water reserves.

In the photo, Pamela’s leg is perched on the bath tub as she covers her modesty with a towel.

The message on the advertisement read: “Meat and dairy farms drain a third of the world’s fresh water.

“Making a splash for the environment doesn’t just mean shorter showers. Try vegan.”

Playboy bunny Pamela was the perfect person for the advertising campaign as she stopped eating meat as a teenager and is now a vegan.

Back in 2011, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine took off all of his clothes to raise awareness for testicular cancer, as part of the Everyman Campaign which was run by The Institute of Cancer Research, London.

The campaign was then published in Cosmopolitan.

In the photo the rockstar can be seen flaunting his incredibly toned body as he stands with his legs partly open.

While staring straight into the camera, a woman’s hands can be seen hiding his modesty as she places her hand over his manhood.

British cook Ainsley Harriott stripped off for The Real Full Monty to raise awareness of prostrate and testicular cancer.

Ainsley, who sadly lost his mother to cancer, was more than happy to get involved and do his part for the cause.

The 1990s movie has inspired several other celebs to also strip down for a charitable cause and has several men take part over the years.

Other celebs who also joined Ainsley on the strip tease included TOWIE star James Argent and TV presenter Jeff Brazier.

The show has also had a female-centred cast, with the likes of Megan Barton-Hanson, Coleen Nolan and Emmerdale’s Sally Dexter stripping off.
