GMB host Piers Morgan suffers major ear piece blunder causing mega show delay

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan caused the show to face a significant delay after he took to his chair alongside co-host Susanna Reid but suffered a major mishap..

The 55-year-old caused quite a stir on set after he’d taken centre stage but failed to collect his ear piece before going live.

Piers clearly wasn’t ready as the programme kicked off and was awaiting his cue from producers that never came.

The team erupted into panic as they tried to reunite Piers with his equipment but due to Covid-19 restrictions, show chiefs couldn’t bring them to the presenter.

As a result, the Life Stories star had to leave his chair to grab his technical equipment, causing the show to begin late.

Piers boldly told viewers: “I was just about to do my big opening for the show and do the headlines and everything else but I realised something about the show was wrong and that nobody had given me my cue from the gallery.”

He went on: “I was about to launch into my usual ‘what is wrong with this people? Why can’t they be more professional?’

“Then I realised I hadn’t actually put my ear piece in.

“So do you know what just to make things a lot easier for everybody, otherwise I’ll be flying blind and nobody wants that.”

Susanna offers to retrieve her co-host’s nifty piece of equipment but was swiftly halted by the show bosses due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Piers was left with no choice but to get up and fetch his gadget himself in order to be compliant with coronavirus rules.

Co-host Susanna, didn’t seem very impressed with the on-air blunder, she sarcastically quipped: “This is great drama for 6:32am in the morning.”

At which point her partner in crime returned explaining: “Unfortunately I can now hear the director now that is the problem.

“Sort of preferred it without.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV.
